NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

Town of Stockton Comprehensive Plan/Future 

Land use Map and Zoning ordinance Amendment 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Stockton, Portage County, Wisconsin, will be holding a Public Hearing on a proposed amendment to its Comprehensive Plan/Future Land Use Map on June 26th, 2023, at 6:30 PM at the Town of Stockton Town Hall, 7252 6th Street, Custer, WI, 54423. 

The Town of Stockton Plan Commission met May 3rd, 2023, to recommend an amendment to the Town of Stockton Comprehensive Plan to change the land use designation on Future Land Use Map 8.3 for Parcel #034-23-0926-02.11 (2.3 acres) from L3 (Limited Agriculture/Mixed Use) to Residential and Parcel #034-23-0926-02.09 (1.1 acres) from Commercial to Residential.  The Plan Commission will forward their approval recommendation to the Stockton Town Board. 

This change in land use designation is necessary to allow for the property owner to request a rezoning of the same parcels respectively, as follows: Parcel 034-23-0926-02.11 from A3 Low Density Agricultural to R1 Rural and Urban Fringe Residence, and Parcel 034-23-0926-02.09 from C3 Commercial to R1 Rural and Urban Fringe Residence on the Zoning Map. The Stockton Plan Commission also recommended approval of the rezoning request and will forward their approval recommendation to the Stockton Town Board.  All Plan Commission recommendations will be on the agenda of the Stockton Town Board meeting on Monday, June 26th, 2023.
