NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Town of Stockton Comprehensive Plan Update
and Zoning Map Amendment
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Stockton, Portage County, Wisconsin, will be holding a Public Hearing on a proposed update to its 2016 Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Map on December 22nd, 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Town of Stockton Town Hall, 7252 6th Street, Custer, WI, 54423.
The Town of Stockton Plan Commission voted November 5th, 2025, to recommend an update to the 2016 Town of Stockton Comprehensive Plan and the Town of Stockton Zoning Map to the Town Board.
Updates to the Plan include demographic, housing and socioeconomic information using the American Community Survey; updated information related to transportation, utilities and community facilities, agricultural and natural resources, economic development, intergovernmental cooperation, and land use; and amendments to related maps including the Existing Land Use map and Future Land Use map. The Town of Stockton Zoning map was also updated for four parcels, including 034240932-06.06, 034240932-06.09, 034230920-10.12, and 034394303, as requested by the property owners.
A copy of the proposed amendments are available for viewing prior to the public hearing at the Stockton Town Hall and the Portage County Planning and Zoning Department office located at the County Annex, 1462 Strongs Avenue, Stevens Point, as well as being posted for viewing on the Portage County website (www.co.portage.wi.us).
