Road Crew Member Job Description (CDL Required)

We’re looking for a dependable, safety‑focused Road Crew Member to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving roadways and infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to operate commercial vehicles and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, plow trucks, and other CDL‑required equipment
- Perform road maintenance tasks such as patching, grading, snow removal, debris cleanup, cut brush, tar cracks, and signage installation
- Safely operate equipment
- Follow all safety protocols, traffic control procedures, and job‑site regulations
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
- Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class B)
- Proven experience in road construction, maintenance, or related field
- Safe and Clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform manual labor for extended periods
- Willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, or emergency call‑ins as needed
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with snowplow operations
- Knowledge of road construction materials and methods
- Familiarity with traffic control and flagging procedures
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment troubleshooting
