As we all try to recover from the recent flooding we want to ensure that the municipalities have current information.
For those that need sandbags:
Municipalities can still pick up quantities of empty sandbags at the County Highway Department during business hours. Highway staff are instructed to handout roughly 300 to 400 empty bags. If more are requested, as in the past we ask that you contact the County Emergency Management Office.
Individuals may request small quantities of empty sand bags from the customer service desk of the Plover Fire Department at 2400 Post Road between 8 am and 4 pm. Individuals will need to furnish their own shovels and they will have to fill their own sand bags.
To obtain sand:
A pile of sand is available adjacent to the Village of Plover office at 2400 Post Road. You may fill your own sand bags from this location.
Damage Suggestions:
The best advice for residents and businesses who may have damage is to document and take pictures of the damage and contact your home owners or business insurance carriers.
Have your residents and businesses call 211 so their damage can be documented.
At this time Portage County has not met the qualifications to meet Federal Individual Assistance for residential damages.
