Seasonal Weight Limit Restrictions

On Wednesday, March 8th, 2023, the Town of Stockton will be imposing seasonal weight restrictions (as allowed by 349.16 of the Wisconsin State Statutes) on all town roads.  The maximum weight permitted on Town of Stockton roads during this time is 7.5 tons.  The Town of Stockton will be installing signs along all posted roads beginning at 7:00 AM.

Exceptions to Weight Limits include the following: fire department vehicles, Town of Stockton vehicles, public utility vehicles, school buses, garbage haulers, septic haulers, emergency vehicles and milk haulers.

Vehicles exceeding the 7.5-ton weight restriction require a Weight Permit, not to exceed 60,000 lbs. total. Weight Permits can be obtained by contacting the Town Clerk at least 72 hours in advance of needing the Weight Permit.
